Rebox RE-8401 Android 4K UHD single-tuner 4K

This Rebox 4K Android receiver has been developed specifically for the Canal Digitaal / TV Vlaanderen subscriber.
Use this Android single-tuner satellite receiver in combination with your CAM803 or CAM701 (module with built-in electronic smart card).
If you only have a separate smart card, you must insert it into a MultiStream CI module, because the use of a smart card alone is no longer supported. The umbrella organization M7 Group has announced that channels will be coded more heavily, partly for security reasons. A smart card alone will then no longer be able to decode the subscriber channels, so a working card reader is no longer included.

Fastscan | Canal Digitaal & TV Vlaanderen
As far as scanning channels is concerned, the focus is on the (Canal Digitaal / TV Vlaanderen) Fastscan, which is the default. First, the module used is always detected/initialized, then you execute the Fastscan with one click, which is ready after 5 to 10 seconds!

Watch and record at the same time
In addition to the important feature that this receiver supports the CAM803 (there are still only a few of them), you can watch TV and record another program from another channel at the same time with this box plus the modules mentioned.
Of course, those channels must be in the same transponder/frequency, because the '8401' is a single tuner after all.

Storage medium
The RE-8401UHD S-PVR Android single-tuner satellite receiver has a slot to insert a Micro SD Card (128GB maximum), where you can write the recordings to.
If you have a USB2.0 eHDD (maximum 1TB, and maximum 500mA in use), then that is also possible.
However, a Micro SD Card is easier, faster, and also less vulnerable than a conventional USB2.0 eHDD (with its moving parts).

-Micro SD Cards should be formatted with the NTFS file system. Your recording will then be written to one .TS file (It is much easier to play a recording on a laptop/tablet, for example, instead of playing multiple .TS files separately, or sticking them together with a Joiner tool (especially for people who are not handy with a computer).
-Timeshift (start and resume)

In a next update, for example, the following can be added/expanded:

-Blind scan
-Timeshift function expansion
-USALS
-Manual add to Scheduler/Timer Manager (long recordings for example)
-Add Play-event to Scheduler in EPG
-Radio recordings/playback is already included, but the FF method needs to be adjusted
-Back from standby, now still has black screen, and an extra click HOME button is needed, so it is still being fine-tuned

Limited PVR recording function:

You can record with the Rebox 8401 Android box on an optional Micro SD Card (128GB maximum size). The performance of a Micro SD Card is a lot better than a connected eHDD via the USB 2.0 ports.

Please note the maximum size of this Micro SD card and that recording from another channel is only possible if it is broadcasting on the same transponder as the channel currently being viewed! Also note that transmitters and transponders can change if the provider so wishes...

 Bluetooth remote control for Rebox RE-8401

The supplied RCU (Remote Control Unit) is a Bluetooth remote control.
The advantage over an IR (Infrared) remote is that you no longer have to point it at the receiver.
In caravans/campers/boats, TV receivers are often concealed in a cabinet. With earlier models, an IR eye extension cable was required to operate the receiver.
With the '8401' and this BT RCU, this is no longer necessary.

In addition to a WiFi module, the box also has the BT module built in.
So you don't have to worry about plug-in dongles in a USB port.

Pairing the Rebox Bluetooth remote control

You need to make a Bluetooth remote control known to the receiver.
This so-called 'pairing process' takes place in step 2 after starting up the '8401'.
In step 1, you make the language selection.
Then the Bluetooth function is not yet activated, and you use the IR function once more.

(Limited) learning function of the remote control
This remote also has a 'learning' function. With this you can read a number of basic TV functions from your original TV remote control (power ON/OFF, INPUT/SOURCE/BRON, volume UP/DOWN).

Network / Internet
Connecting this box to your home network/internet is highly recommended.
This way you can also benefit from apps that depend on it. After all, the receiver runs on the Android operating system, so apps can be installed yourself (if compatible).
